| Brother Ingalls plays... the fiddle? |
I asked my wife if she knew of any pioneer stories that included musical instruments and all that she could tell me was that Charles Ingalls had a fiddle. She was just being silly, but put aside the fact that "Little House on the Prairie" is make-believe and she may be on to something — the time period the show is set in is not far from the time period of our pioneer trek. I'm not suggesting we add
Little House to our suggested preparation activities... but it does make me want to watch an episode or two.
I'm not sure about fiddles, but I don't doubt that we'll see a few acoustic guitars along our journey. Harmonicas definitely are in — easy to keep out of sight and yet ready in an instant to help brighten the spirts during mundane times.
